Current Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician responsible for the installation of electrical systems in commercial and industrial construction markets at various job sites and project locations. You will supervise and coordinate the work of assigned helper/apprentice electricians on each job and promote outstanding customer relations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Arrive at project worksite punctually, prepared to work.
• Show a strong willingness to learn and enhance electrical skills.
• Utilize basic electrical and construction principles to address design and modification challenges using specified parts and assemblies.
• Execute work in compliance with national and local electrical codes, including staying updated with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Adhere to company policies and procedures in all aspects of work.
• Meet daily commitments and align with project schedules as directed by the job-site foreman.
• Assist with various tasks such as loading materials, digging trenches, and pulling wire to ensure successful project completion.
• Treat all clients, coworkers, vendors, and other trades personnel with respect and professionalism.
• Maintain a clean job site before leaving and keep the area organized during work.
• Complete necessary paperwork, including timecards, and submit them when due.
• Understand and enforce the safety policies and training of CESG.
• Troubleshoot common electrical systems, including services, feeders, and branch circuits.
• Plan new or modified installations to minimize material waste and ensure accessibility for future maintenance, following local electrical codes and specifications.
• Create sketches to illustrate wiring and equipment locations, ensuring concealed wiring is placed before completing walls, ceilings, or flooring.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
• Pull wiring through conduit as necessary.
• Splice wires by removing insulation, twisting or soldering connections, and applying tape or terminal caps.
• Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
• Observe functioning equipment for hazards and determine needs for adjustment, relocation, or replacement.
• Repair faulty equipment or systems.
• Undertake additional duties as required.
Job Requirements:
• High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical project installations.
• Must possess reliable transportation.
• Own hand tools necessary for electrical work.
• Ability to work with hands and juggle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong electrical knowledge is essential.
• A valid state motor vehicle operator's license with a clear driving record, compliant with Company policies.
• Relevant state certification is required.
• Willingness to travel is a must.
